Title: Toll-free
Services Routing with AT&T Route It!
Course Length: Two Days
Prerequisites: None
Customer Requirements:
Customer must be an AT&T Route It! subscriber
COURSE OUTLINE
AT&T
Toll-free Services Routing Overview
In order to introduce toll-free services
routing and advanced 800 features, it is necessary to take a sample
call and follow it from the caller, all the way through the network,
to the customer location, and, finally, to an agent.
This is accomplished by walking through each step of the
process, using some unique visual aids and enlisting help from the
students to participate in the demonstration.
This also allows us to see where Route It! fits in the big
picture and what overall function it is providing.
Billing and Provisioning
Components
We introduce some basic terminology that
AT&T uses in its billing and provisioning process.
These concepts and terms are also used throughout the Route
It! application.
Advanced
800 Features
In this segment, we introduce all of the
Advanced 800 features available for use in the customer's routing
plans. This is only a
preliminary discussion of the features.
The detailed discussion, which includes rules and requirements
for each feature, occurs during the exercises in the next segment.
The
Route It! Application
The majority of class time is spent in this
section. The student
launches Route It! on their P.C. and follows the instructor through
a logical progression of lecture, demonstrations, and exercises to
learn about every module that is part of the Route It! application.
The student learns how to view and search the customer
profile, an inventory of all of the toll-free numbers,
terminations, announcements, etc., which is in the customer's advanced
features account. Many
demonstrations and exercises are performed to reinforce the skills
that are taught in the Edit Plans and Scheduler modules.
Students learn to build routing plans and schedules by
working on exercises which were designed based on actual features
and routing plans that are being used by their company.
Self Provisioning
This is a new capability in
Route It! that allows you to perform certain types of provisioning
activities in near real-time. After discussing what can be done in
this module, the student will get their feet wet by provisioning an
actual termination during class.
Automating Cutovers
In this section, the student
will learn how to plan and perform activities in Route It! well in
advance of a cutover. By doing this, all routing changes for that
cutover will occur automatically at pre-planned dates and exact
times. This methodology will work for simple single event cutovers
to complicated multi-phase cutovers.
Troubleshooting
Toll-free Number Problems Using Route It!
In this segment, we talk about the process of testing
and troubleshooting toll-free number problems.
We discuss various scenarios and walk through the process of
using the routing plan and select features to aid in the
troubleshooting process. Knowing
this information significantly accelerates trouble reporting and problem
resolution.
ICP (optional half-day add-on
session)
The ICP add-on session covers
details on how the ICP (Intelligent Call Processing) feature
interacts with your on-premises system (example: Cisco ICM). In
order to see this interaction, we take a second look at the call
flow demonstration and add the ICP components. Provisioning
implications are discussed next, followed by a look at ICP related
activities in the customer profile module. Students will then learn
and practice using CRP tables and building/modifying routing plans
that include various examples of CRP (Customer Routing Point)
routing logic.
